PRP (platelet rich plasma) skin therapy is a fantastic facial treatment that uses a small amount of your own blood to stimulate the production of collagen and new skin cells. The treatment helps rejuvenate a range of ageing skin issues including fine lines, wrinkles, general sagging and more.
This unique treatment is carried out by Dr Aamer Khan and his expert team at our Chelsea Clinic and at his clinic in Harley Street. Dr Khan has wealth of experience in Surgical and Non Surgical Procedures and has appeared on many television programs over the years. Dr Khan is a well known Plastic Surgeon with international fame and is often a regular on programs such as This Morning.
Due to the simplicity and effectiveness of the treatment, PRP facials are favourable among our patients wanting a facelift but are looking for non-surgical alternatives. This treatment is also known as the Vampire Facial.
Platelet rich plasma therapy can also be used on any part of the body, face, ageing hands, crepey necks and the chest and décolletage areas. This treatment is very successful on Hair Loss patients.
How does it Work?
Blood contains a range of cells, serums and platelets, and PRP skin therapy utilises these natural properties to help skin appear younger. After our highly trained staff obtains a small amount of your blood (similar to a blood test), the sample is then ran through a machine that separates these properties.
The blood platelets are then extracted and are injected back into the area of need of treatment. The platelets then naturally cause a tiny amount of blood clotting around the injected area. This stimulates the release of growth factors which causes the regeneration of new skin tissue.
This new tissue looks healthier, firmer and appears more youthful overall.
