Dermaroller

Skin needling works by creating precision trauma on the affected area. This sends signals to the brain to send collagen and lymphatic fluids to the area in order to repair the trauma…..the scar,  pigment, aged skin is then repaired as a by product of the trauma.

The Derma Roller can help improve the appearance of:

  • stretch marks
  • Acne- and surgical scars
  • Wrinkles and anti-aging
  • Ice pick- and chickenpox scars
  • Treating or reducing cellulite
  • Enlarged pores
  • Lack of firmnes
  • Age spots & sun damage
  • Under-eye bags
  • Hair loss
  • Hyper pigmentation
  • Can also help with deeper absorption of creams into the skin

Each Derma Roller contains 192 sterilised surgical needles. When rolled lightly over the skin, thousands of tiny prick marks are made which, as they heal encourage the production of collagen, the skin’s natural protein. Collagen is often called the building block of the skin, providing it with strength, flexibility and resilience.

Collagen is a naturally occurring protein and is often referred to as the building block of the skin, providing it with strength, flexibility, and resilience. As we age, collagen within our skin degrades, leading to lines and wrinkles. Derma Roller can help to encourage natural collagen production within the skin’s cells.

How many Dermaroller treatments do I need?

Although most clients report looking fresher and rested after a few days following treatment, it can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen. The process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement. Your practitioner will normally recommend a series of 3 – 4 treatments with approximately 6 weeks between them. In treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary to extend your Dermaroller Therapy.

What should I expect immediately post Dermaroller treatment?

Immediately after your Dermaroller Therapy procedure you will look as though you have mild to moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will subside after 3 – 4 hours with only slight redness the next day. SPF50 is advised immediately after the procedure and should be continued throughout your treatment course. It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 12 hours after the procedure and tepid water should be used to cleanse the face for the 48 hours following the procedure.

How long does the Dermaroller treatment take?

Treatment times vary for each area, 15-30 minutes for a scar, 45 minutes for a face and up to 90 minutes for face, neck and décolletage or stretch mark treatment. A topical anaesthetic is applied 30 minutes before the treatment time.
